Success Story

The success of Luthan has been dramatic and remarkable. Begun as a one-man operation in 1999 in cramped quarters of fewer than 1,500 square feet, Luthan headquarters and offices now command more than 33,000 square feet and are situated on two acres just off U. S. Highway 60 at 625 Birkhead Avenue in Owensboro, Kentucky. Spacious grounds, sizable loading dock facilities and ample storage capacity not only allow Luthan to accommodate the immediate demands of its ever-expanding customer base, but the comfortable setting also assures future room for growth and productivity.

The beginning…

Luthan's Founder/President, Chuck Book was interested in electronics. Fascinated by its possibilities and quickly displaying an aptitude for its academic demands, Book received his associate's degree in Electronics. At twenty-one, he was fully employed as a meter technician by a large investor-owned gas and electric utility. In 1999 Book opened his own business with a single client. Significantly, the name he chose for his company reflects his professional values as well as his family orientation. He, and his wife Angie, have two sons, Luke and Jonathan. Merging syllables from their names, Book christened his company Luthan Electric Meter Testing. Seven years later his business had grown to such an extent that he formed a partnership to help with the growth.
